Throughout this course, we’ll use practice boards to:

• Try full designs before painting faces

If a design doesn’t work — that’s perfect.

How to use a practice board

1. Place the board on a flat surface
2. Use the same paints, brushes, and sponges as you would on skin
3. Paint slowly and focus on control
4. Repeat strokes again and again

When you’re finished:

• Wipe clean with a damp cloth or wipes
• Let it dry
• Start again

Practice boards vs real faces

Practice boards are for skill building. Faces are for confidence and speed. We always practice new designs on a board first. Then we move to real faces once we feel comfortable. This keeps clients happy and reduces stress.

That’s okay. You can also practice on:

• Paper
• Laminated paper
• A mirror
• Your own arm
